Collective Awareness Platforms for Sustainability and Social Innovation
The CAPSSI initiative aims at designing and piloting online platforms creating awareness of sustainability problems and offering collaborative solutions based on innovative networks of people, ideas, services and technologies enabling new forms of social innovation. CAPSSI supports environment-aware efforts, grassroots processes and practices to share knowledge, achieve changes in lifestyle, production and consumption patterns, and set up more participatory democratic processes on a global pan-European scale.
To build and grow a strong community of active players by providing all CAPS stakeholders with effective tools supporting coordination of efforts, communication and dissemination, knowledge transfer, collaborative learning, best practices identification and promotion of outcomes for broad impact in the society.
To connect CAPS players among them and with related initiatives growing in Europe and elsewhere through active participation and direct involvement of key players all across the community is key to understand how digital social innovation is at the core of a Next Generation of Internet of Humans.
To impact the society and allow for digital social transformation to effectively change citizens’ lives through coordinated CAPS efforts rooted in a number of actions and events that are involving students, hackers, grassroots initiatives, policy makers and all digital social innovators.
The CAPSSI initiative is promoted by the European Commission and empowered via coordination and support activities provided by the ChiC, Coordinating high-Impact for CAPS, project. ChiC operates to enhance and enlarge the CAPS community for impact to be generated within the H2020 Framework Programme and beyond.
