Crowdsourcing is a varied and growing phenomenon that makes use of digital technology and the open participation of volunteers. It leverages the so-called “wisdom of the crowd” and empowers people to address social challenges in areas as diverse as education, health care, policy making, privacy, the environment, infrastructure, and more. The impact and reach of such crowd-based endeavours depend mainly on continued user participation, which calls for instruments to provide rewards, incentives, and other mechanism that attract and engage volunteers to contribute to a common cause.
The CROWD4ROADS project will organize a summer school about “Crowdsourcing for the Common Good”, hosted by the University of Urbino (Italy), from the 25th to the 28th of September 2018.
Application, full program, and organization details for PhD students will be announced soon.
Registration will also be open to undergraduate students, master’s students, and the general public.
